: That is likely a residual effect of inflammation. It should clear up in a week or so, if not sooner. If you still have bloody or brownish phlegm two weeks from now, see a doctor.

i had the a cold/the flu and it turned into a sinus infection. ive taken 3 doses of amox clav 875 and ive started to get a mild rash on my arms. its small pink bumps with mild itchiness. no other symptoms. am i ok to continue taking it?

Sinus spasms: It could be that your sinus passages are spasming which can happen from weather changes, dryness or just random spasms. Certain migraines can cause these kinds of symptoms. Try doing some sinus washing and see if that helps.

Not typical care : Steroid injections are not an effective treatment for either of these conditions.  Steroids should actually be avoided with these conditions as they can impair the immune system.

Herpes Simplex: See your doctor for a prescription med.  Herpes simplex 1 or hsv 1also known as oral herpes. It is different from genital herpes which is hsv 2 . . Medication can decrease the pain related to an outbreak and can shorten healing time. They can also decrease the total number of outbreaks. Drugs including famvir, zovirax, and Valtrex (valacyclovir) are among the drugs used to treat the symptoms of herpes.

Different causes: Flu is caused by a strain of influenza virus. It usually is sudden in onset and causes high fever and chills. Antibiotics won't make it go away any faster. A sinus infection is a bacterial infection usually occurring as a complication at the end of a head cold, so it comes on gradually. Fever is less common, and bacterial sinus infections often get better faster with antibiotics.

Sinus infections: Are localized to the sinus areas in the facial and nasal regions. Flu symptoms may be more generalized and systemic, accompanied by muscle and joint aches, upper respiratory symptoms including the ear and occasionally cardiac symptoms as well.
