Position: It is the position of sitting and doing this puts pressure on the back of the leg and compresses the blood vessel and nerve.  Also because you are not moving there is no muscle contraction to help push the blood around.

Yes: Having the feet and legs down will create swelling with out muscle activity to help pump out the fluid.

Tingling : The pattern of tingling described is not suggestive of a single disease process. It can be due to systemic illness, metabolic, toxic, neurologic, hematologic, medication side effect and sometime psychogenic. Consultation with ones doctor, internist or neurologist is recommended as a systemic etiology may need to be investigated for.

Swollen feet: Feet can be swollen due to travel although 2 hours is a short period of time which generally may not cause swelling of legs and feet. It is important to know how is your general health status and other associated symptoms as well. Please discuss it with a physician if leg elevation and staying active does not relieve it.

Depends of the cause: Pain could be due to different reasons. A thorough history and physical exam and possibly some laboratory and radiology exams may help to determine the right cause. Pain may be due to: trauma (fracture, sprains, arthritis), infection, metabolic conditions (gout), biomechanical abnormality, blood clot, nerve damage (neuropathy) and etc. Treatment will depend on the cause.

Malaria is a very serious disease with fatal consequences.Go review the CDC. Next time please take the prophylaxis as recommended!

: It is not going to travel as you envision. It will stay where it enters/imbeds in the foot until it is removed.

: Would have a hard time imagining how a sewing needle could enter the circulation and cause severe problems.  Rather would be concerned of the needle in the foot becoming a nidus for an infection with subsequent cellulitis.  Recommend a visit to a pediatrician.
