Find the cause!: The most important thing is to figure out WHY you have enlarged lymph nodes...is there an infection somewhere?  A dental problem?  Something more serious?  If it's been just a week or two and they're not enlarging with time, you're probably ok to watch them for a while.  But if they persist beyond a month, grow, or are hard or fixed, you should be seen sooner than later to discuss next steps.

even though i tested -ve on rna tests days 12 and 22 and 4th gen agab test on day 44 after potential exposure, i'm experiencing swollen lymph nodes in my jaw and possibly my groin. is it possible that tests were false -ves or could be due to other?

: There is no possibility your HPV test results are false negative. These results prove something other than HPV is the cause of your symptoms. Anyway, among all people with unexplained lymph node enlargements, HIV is among the rarest causes. See a doctor if the problem continues or you remain concerned. But please stop worrying about HPV:  for sure you do not have it. Good luck.

Many options: With the history of trauma, perhaps you need to have a dental exam.  Are the nodes present on both sides of your jaw?  Regardless, you need a careful exam to determine what is going on.  Good luck.

See your doctor: Depends upon your age and whether you smoke and drink alcohol.  Most  nodes in the neck are benign and related to inflammation/infection.  But, tumors of the mouth and throat can spread to lymph nodes under the jaw. Lymphoma sometimes starts as lymph nodes in the neck. The submandibular salivary gland is under the jaw and may get inflamed. Get it checked if the nodes have been present for 2+ weeks.

Not unusual: People that are ill can have enlarged lymph nodes. This is usually related to a sore throat or some type of nasal , or throat or systemic infection. You could have mono. If the nodes do not go down see your doc. Give it a couple of weeks.

Could be: You may watch and wait. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor.

Parotid nodes: The major sites of node involvement in the H&amp;N area are related to the jugular nodes.  If not of primary lymphomatous origin the nodes are metastatic usually from thyroid  or oral squamous lesions metastatic to neck. In the area between ear and jaw the parotid is a major structure with multiple nodes  either metastatic from cutaneous regions or from a primary parotid lesion. Bx may be needed.

is a blunt paint below the hinges of my jaw indicative of swollen lymph nodes, therefore i ought to bunker down and get rest/fluids/etc?

See Doctor: Pain in the jaw hinge could be tmj, but pain below the hinge could be anything: referred pain of decaying tooth, inflammation in the parotid gland or lymph node. If red, warm or swollen, call your doctor. Rest and fluids are for viral infections (cold and flu). If this is a localized bacterial infection you need to seek medical attention.
