please tell me, could a knee injury cause swollen groin lymph nodes?

Ask your pcp: Isoltated knee injuries ( acl tear, meniscus tear, kneecap dislocations etc.)are not associated w/ inflamed inguinal lymph nodes in my experience.Infections in or around the knee could result in larger inguinal nodes but if u are concerned see your pcp for full evaluation. Yes: Any inflammation in the area drained by a lymph node can result in enlargement of the relevant node.

Adenopathy: A chronic or infected distal wound can cause the proximal lymph nodes (closer to the heart), to swell. Have your doc check you out. A trial of antibiotics, followed by a biopsy may be recommended. If your wound is not healed, get a wound center evaluation.

Lymphadenitis only??: Get a second opinion on the slide review and have a hematology consult exam you completely. Hopefully everything all will work out in the end.

Not likely: I do not believe the swelling is due to the fractured toes. You need to have checked asap.

Nearby infection: Painful swollen lymph nodes on one side may often suggest that you have  a nearby infection on that side.  It should resolve when the infection goes away.  The swollen lymph node suggests that your body is working to fight infection.

Monitoring Centers: The lymphatic system absorbs and carries things too big to go into the arteries and veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food.  A lymph node "tastes" the lymph to see if anything bad is there like bacteria, viruses, cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and enlarges in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  You can feel them then.

Lymph nodes: This seems to indicate an infective process of some sort. There are also other causes as well. If the lymph nodes are all swollen all over then you must go and see your doctor and get blood tests done.
