Chalazion: You likely have a chalazion. Often times after a stye a hard lump is left in the eyelid. It can be reduced in size by applying hot compresses. If you do not see it diminishing over a month, consult your eye doctor.

Eyelid swelling: Has many possible causes.  You can try some warm compresses to see if this helps.  Often, it will resolve by itself, especially if you're not having any other symptoms.  If this persists, then see your eye doctor to evaluate this further.

Common: Some styes do not immediately localize and instead cause an inflammation of the entire lid. Eventually they usually locallize and can respond to heat or other measures.

i have a stye on my upper eyelid it just came up this morning it is not as swollen as it was this morning is it ok to wear make up right now?

Avoid eyeliner: Yes makeup should not be a problem, but avoid the mascara and eyeliner until the sty completely resolves.

Swollen eyelid: There is internal stye, so what you saw can still be a stye. There is also cholazion which is related to stye. I would suggest you see a doc to figure it all out.

Stye: Try warm compresses frequently and artificial tears as needed.  If no improvement or persistence, see an eye doctor.

Warm soaks: Apply a very warm wet washclothe to your eyelid 4-5 times per day.   If this does not resolve the swelling within a week, see an ophthalmologist.

Heat treatment: Use a warm wet washcloth held under the very hot but not scalding tap in your kitchen.  Put it over the lid on the affected side (really both lids as yours eyes should be shut) and do this about 5 times per day and 5 minutes each time.  This almost always will eliminate a stye.  Antibiotics and things at drug stores like "Stye ointment" will have no effect.

my eyelid is swollen and red. it is painful and hurts when i touch it or blink.

i had a stye about 3 weeks ago, and the swelling took very long to go down and the redness remained.

: This needs to be evaluated in person by a doctor. I wonder if there is a pocket of a  skin infection that needs to be opened and drained.
