1 or more?: If just 1 area or more?  If 1 it can b from an old injury developing arthritic changes. More evident if u r thin. If many & no injury may be a more generalized arthritic. The ccjct is actually a joint & a systemic process like RA could effect these joints as wellas others. If it is just there no pain or problem forget about it. Seek eval if symptomatic or 4 peace of mind.

Cartilage and ribs: The 6-9th ribs share a common cartilagenous connection with the sternum.   You may have had a cartilage separation - very painful but usually due to high force trauma.   You may also have costochondritis - which is a painful inflammation of that joint.    A rib x-ray should be able to give some clues.

FirstCheckYourDiet: If you were older I'd suggest you go get yourself checked ASAP because those kinds of discomforts could be due to a heart problem. Much less likely at your age but not impossible. Because it's when you are eating (or after?) I'd first try and see if it is something specific I'm eating that is the cause, The acid from your stomach could be coming back up. So if this persists, see a doctor.

Which cartilage?: Ear?  High ear piercings through cartilage have ^ risk of infection ; lack of healing because of minimal blood supply to auricular cartilage.  You can develop a perichondral abscess as well auricular perichondritis. If you ear is hot, red, swollen or has increasing pain you need medical evaluation. This could be an infection.

I  believe i already: answered this but i would clean with peroxide (mixed with equal parts water) apply topical antibiotic and make appointment to see dermatologist if swelling doesn't decrease.

Infection?: Your ear is inflamed, but whether this is due to infection cannot be diagnosed long distance. Get this looked at by a doctor and treated appropriately. Good luck.

Potentially: The property of a material to stretch in respons to a stress and then contract back to its original length is know as elasticity.  To some extent, the cartilage portion of the ribs do have this property.

See a doctor: Cartilage piercing is dangerous and can cause irreversible damage to the cartilage. Have it evaluated to rule out damage or infection.

Lumps: No lymph nodes would be there. These lumps are probably small inclusion cysts or tiny lipomas(fatty growths). However a physician or dermatologist would have to inspect these in order to make a diagnosis and also inform you whether removal is advisable.
