Looks like it did.: Methadone in and of itself does not usually cause weight gain and certainly not a large gain.  However, the preceding heroin may have caused significant weight loss which makes it appear that Methadone caused weight gain. Swelling in hands and feet is concerning for lots of other things including malnutrition, chronic liver, kidney and heart disease in addition to a host of inflammatory disorders.

Many possibilities: I first would think hypothyroidism, but swelling can also be caused by vitamin deficiencies and nephrotic syndrome. You should see a physican who can usually check by blood tests.

i'm 14 weeks pregnant with high bp and on hypotone. experiencing swelling in hands & feet. ob/gyn said it's due to allergies. i'm worried it may be preclampsia as i get a lot of headaches recently. is it water retention maybe? any advice?

If your placenta : is normal , then it very unlikely to have preeclampsia at 14 weeks, usually after 20 weeks at the earliest. An abnormal placenta called a molar pregnancy can cause very early preeclampsia.

Depends where swell: It depends if  the swelling is in the joints, or the entire hand  and foot is  this the same in each. Most commonly the swelling in the feet  is edema.  There is  unilateral swelling in reflex  dystrophy and  s3pe. If the individual joints are  swollen this can suggest polyarthritis like rheuamtoid  arthritis. There are a  variety of  other  causes depnding where  the swelling is and its intensity.

Probably not: Fibromyalgia ranges at least from adolescence and probably from early in childhood.  Growing older does not spare anyone.
Swelling (if objective) would have a different cause.

I've had the exact same experience: Although I am decidedly not an expert in this area, I am an experienced patient with those exact symptoms. Recently i've come to believe that the problem may be one of carbohydrate overload. On december 31 i gave up carbohydrates in within the confines of that diet have eaten whatever i like. I find that most of my aches and pains have evaporated, when i'm hungry i can simply ignore it and eat when it's more convenient to prepare good foodand have lost the 20 pounds i've been  attempting to lose for the past 30 years.

can levothyroxin be used to treqt high blood pressure or swelling in hands and feet?

Probably not: Levothyroxin is used to treat an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism). If you do not have that condition, the added thyroid medicine can possibly make blood pressure higher. See your fp to discuss whether your thyroid activity is normal, whether any BP med might be causing the swelling, alternatives to eliminating hand/foot swelling.
