Delay of: fracture healing can occur from failure to follow post surgical or immobilization instructions, infections and poor nutritional status or inadequate reduction of displaced fracture

Conservative: Initial treatment should be topical 
nsaid (pennsaid, voltaren (diclofenac) gel) and physical therapy.  If that fails then add injection of cortisone. If you are still not better get an MRI to see if you have a rotator cuff tear.

In short YES. : I typically do not perform surgery on nondisplaced fractures of the proximal humerus. I tell people it is like having ice cream on a cone. If the ice cream (humeral head or ball) falls off the cone(shaft) then it needs surgery if the ice cream is tilted or slightly smashed no surgery. If it is blown to prices then surgery.

Sticky: The fracture typically becomes 'sticky' after 10-14 days depending on the health status of the individual (takes longer if you smoke or are unhealthy).  You should come out of the sling for ROM exercises as soon as you can comfortably.  Fracture typically heals quickly and without future consequences.

hi. i have a "fracture of humeral head, right, closed" and the ed didn't do anything for me except refer me to an ortho surgeon which i need a referral for. my question is what do i do now? my arm is killing and it's in a sling so i cannot use it?

: Primary management of a non-displaced fracture at this site is often just immobilization in a sling and pain control. The otho follow-up is also standard procedure. I would go see the ortho when they schedule you and coordinate pain control/ work notes with your primary doc.

Fracture hand: If you have swelling, pain, bruising or a noticeable deformity then you may have a fracture. The only way to confirm is with a xray.

Yes, it is possible.: A fall onto the hand can cause a sprain, ligament injury, or a break/fracture of bone.  Pain is a good indicator of a problem.

Depends: It sounds as if you had a hand fracture which did not heal in a perfect position.  If it's simply a cosmetic issue, and your hand is completely functional, then really nothing needs to be done unless you are concerned about the appearance. However, if your function is affected, then you may have to consider surgery in which an osteotomy (cutting the bone) is done to re-align it - no guarantees tho.
