i accidentally swallowed a very small piece of a pork bone.  it did not get caught in my throat. not experiencing any negative symptoms. of swallowing it got my   is there anything i should look for that might indicate a problem?

Not particularly : This will pass through your gut &amp; exit in your poop in 3-4 days. We have plenty of experience with little kids who decide to eat rocks/bugs/twigs/etc. so the issue is not uncommon. Button batteries from hearing aids or small rare earth magnets are the things you really want to avoid ingesting.

Depends on details: A person who swallows a small hard object such as a piece of bone, and then continues to eat solid food without problems... need not worry. If she was able to eat foods like bread or meat afterwards, then she knows the small hard object is in her stomach. Small bones that get in the stomach just get pooped out with the regular poop... unless you are really, really unlucky. Generally, no worries.

Food: It is food and has nutrients like any other foods. If you enjoy eating those, I don't see why not. Make sure you cook it well since bone could chap your teeth. Bone marrow has high cholesterol so watch it out like in any other foods. Enjoy.

"Bone in throat" ?'s: Assuming the bone caught in your throat has passed into your lower intestines may need confirmation. Best is to go to a GI specialist who can decide if endoscopy is indicated and can assess further problems, if any.

Foreign body: Yes, go to ER.  You likely need x ray to make sure no splinter of bone remains.

Eating raw pork: I am assuming this was a commercially butchered animal  -and if home butchered   - the animal was "normal" prior.   With that caveat -  it would be extremely unlikely that you would develop rabies.   At the most you might get an upset stomach.   Raw pork does carry the risk of trichinosis but good farming techniques have generally eliminated this .    I don't think you have much to worry about.

Many things: More information is needed please.   Did you sustain any trauma to this area?  Are you taking any blood thinners?  Do you have any medical issues that relate to bleeding disorders or low platelets?   Is the discoloration painful?   Did you recently have a surgical procedure or any dental work in this area?
