Knee pain: Sometimes a baker cyst can cuase pain in the back of knee.  Also hamstrings attach near the buttocks and eun behind knee and can cuase problems.

Let me try to help: To have fluids in the knee to point you could notice it is normal, many reasons could be the source of this fluid, I would advice (If you get to the Doctor) to rest the knee and use anti-inflammatory  medication's (Motrin) and see how it go. Good Luck

Knee pain: I would still get an X-ray due to where the pain is. Rest and ice as well

Not DVT: The negative D-diner test effectively rules out deep vein thrombosis as diagnosis.

Your symptoms suggest orthopedic problem in knee or sciatica.

Will need evaluation: Maybe a thigh muscle problem. Sometimes the knee can have a Baker cyst and can leak fluid into the thigh. It’s hard to say for sure if this is your problem. Would suggest you see a rheumatologist.

l5-s1 microdiscectomy fri for left leg sciatic pain. calf/foot pain relief w/some thigh/behind knee pain. pain less am but sharp pain down left leg into foot w/pain level of 9.5 & hurts sitting/lying.

Call your surgeon: pain of that severity radiating into your leg after back surgery to take pressure off the nerve root is concerning and might indicate swelling or other problems at the surgical site.  Please get in touch with the operating surgeon right away.

Good for you!!: Sometimes a PT is better for this than an ortho Dr. Especially after they determine no surgery is needed. So seek a good PT referral - ask at a Dr, a hospital, a nursing home, a gym, a pharmacy. You'll find they can really help!

Treat or test: If you have joint pain with normal x-rays the next step would be to treat the symptoms with anti-inflammatories, rest, ice and time; consider physical therapy and/or injection of corticosteroid, and also consider MRI for further diagnsotic value.  If you had a significant trauma then I would recommend MRI and if not initial treatment wouldn't change with MRI and I'd start with the basics listed.

bad car accident in 2001,damage to both knees ,yrs later tests shows white masses in knees and woken nighlty with severe inner knee pain so bad i can't straighten it or move my leg until i get past the sharp pain, what can be happening?

Post traumatic arthr: Injury recovery by the body tends to produce advanced ‘aging’ of affected joints. This is most likely your situation. A PMR or Ortho doc can best assess your situation and offer topical, oral, invasive options as well as physical therapy. X rays will,be helpful,to determine I’d your normal range of motion is limited by degenerative changes.
