Do nothing!: This is just your vasculature and your genetics. Although you may be bothered by this, i suspect it doesn't last long, is related to something good (exercise), and if nothing else, is a great conversation starter with some great guy. Don't let this bother you! really! please do not consider vein injections or laser treatments. You don't need the potential problems!

Discolored leg: You should see a physician immediately to have this evaluated.  It will be very important to rule out venous thrombosis, which can be very serious.

i just got bit several times by mosquitos. i noticed one bite on my leg has 3 dark lines coming out from it. it almost looks like veins but ive never seen it before. ive had reactions to mosquito bites before but havent seen this. whats going on?

: I'm not sure what the dark lines signify. A physician would have to inspect this to be sure. The lines could be some breakdown products of some bleeding that occurred under the skin from the bite.

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, and physical examination. Overweight is often associated with prominent or varicose veins. Lowing weight is imperative, not easy, but essential.

Black and blue: I a vein should burst then what you will see is the formation after several days of discoloration of the skin around the area of the burst vein.  This is what we call a black and blue area(ecchymosis). Over several more days this will slowly fade and disappear.

Purple blotches: Purple blotches on the skin arise from capillaries (small blood vessels) in the skin. They may be more noticeable under certain conditions (temp, exercise, alcohol). Depending on the type/degree of involvement lasers may be helpful in reducing their appearance. If they are associated with other symptoms or change in their appearance, it would be advisable to have an exam. Hope this helps!

See Vein Specialist: Varicose veins are bulging grape-like appearing veins which are most commonly seen on the legs.  These are due to leaking(refluxing) valves usually in the saphenous system.  Some causes include hereditary, pregnancy, trauma and aging.  The gold standard of treatment is to have a venous reflux ultrasound to both diagnose and form a treatment plan.  You should see a vein specialist.

Very possibly: If you have aching, pain, tiredness, fatigue, itching, burning, cramping, leg restlessness, and/or swelling that is made worse by prolonged standing and better by getting off your feet. If you have skin discoloration and/or your symptoms affect your ability to accomplish your normal activities of daily living, then you should see a vein specialist to talk about treatment options for your veins.
