Allergic Rhinitis: When you are lying down, more blood flows into  structures called turbinates consist of spongy tissue that swells up more and block your nasal breathing. Another possibility is your bedroom environment may contain allergens like dust mites that worsens your allergy. See an ENT doctor.

Sounds sinus: The nasal passages get very dry and then with irritation such as blowing hard irritates the nostril andvruptures the small capillaries. Don't be so rough keep the sinus irrigated with steam

Dust Mites?: If you have gas heat or live where it's really dry in the winter, a humdifier may fix the problem. You might be allergic to dust mites.  You can try taking an antihistamine like Claritin (loratadine) or zyrtec and see if it helps your symptoms. If it does, you can try buying a special pillowcase and mattress cover for people who have dust mite allergies.You can also see an allergist and get tested.

Need to see Doc: This could be related to nasal septal deviation, enlarged turnbinates, nasal polyps etc. Try saline nasal lavage, and see your doc and may be an ENT to make sure that there is no obstructive pathology.
