year old is probably related to some sport that you are playing.The most important thing
is that the pain has gone away
sometimes a fracture can be seen on an mri
though the injury has healed.

Crushing or cracking: The most common is a crushing of the part of the bone in front. The bone partially collapses, and height is lost. Occasionally bone is pushed up against the spinal cord; if there is numbness, tingling, weakness in the legs should be evaluated by a specialist. There can also be minor breaks in other parts of the bone that usually heal without problem.

Yes: its possible to have a congenital pars defect.  MRI may determine between congenital and traumatic pars defects

Time and patience: Sesamoiditis is notoriously difficult to treat.  X-rays typically show a stress fracture, but some physicians opt for an MRI if pain continues.  Differences in opinion are common on resting vs mild activity.  You will want a rigid shoe and molded pads in the area to help.  Ultimately, some patients need prolonged (few weeks) rest or a rigid boot/cast while the area heals.

Why do you have : Compression fractures at 31 unless from trauma and then they will heal within 12 weeks.  Is there an underlying metabolic issue in terms of bone density that may have to be investigated otherwise if not due to trauma.  You may then need to see an endocrinologist for further workup if that is the case.

Compression fracture: A compression fracture of the thoracic (t5) is a sign of osteoporosis.  Bracing can help to heal the bone but a surgical procedure known as a kyphoplasty may be required.  A bone density test can determine the amount of osteoporosis and supplements stronger than calcium to strengthen the bones. See your primary care physician for further guidance..

my 15 yr daughter has l5 stress fracture when can she go back to her sport?

When doc says so: This is not something to rush.  An L5 spine stress fracture although not out of place, can hurt, make activity very uncomfortable and be a source of chronic pain if not managed correctly.  You should follow the recommendations of your pediatric spine doctor for return to sports timing.  These can often take months to improve and for return to sports.  Any pain and definitely not ready.
