Unusual: But anxiety is powerful. If you are getting breast pain it is most likely something other than emotional stress. Get it checked out. If it is emotional stress look into getting treatment for anxiety. Best wishes.

Stress: You can't chalk breast pain and bleeding nipples up to stress.  You must be seen by a doctor for this!

Stress does: not usually cause breast pain.  You need to be evaluated by your physician.

Yes : But chest pain should always be investigated by a physician , breast pain can be from your monthky menstrual cycle but i would see a physician for chest pain.

Left breast pain: You've given no information concerning any activities prior to the onset of the pain. It could be as simple as a pulled muscle, or something more.
Why are you waiting...call your doctor.

It can be!: Breast tenderness can be a normal part of your cycle as hormones fluctuate in preparation for menses.  Have you increased your caffeine intake recently?  This can increase breast tenderness as well.  Irregular cycles can be caused by stress, but a pregnancy test would be wise.

im on the copper iud, and this is the first time my cycle has been late on it. im 11 days late and experiencing breast tenderness and mood swings. is it just stress related? how long can stress delay a period for?

If not pregnant,: check a pregnancy test to be sure, this likely irregular ovulation, could be from insulin resistance/polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Missed Period?: Some of these symptoms are common with early pregnancy or with a miscarriage.  You didn't say if this was possible.  I would advise monitoring to see if this changes and get a pregnancy test if it remains light.  If  it gets heavier, you can chart the flow for several cycles to see what is your pattern.

Fibrocystic changes: You can see some of my other responses to fibrocystic changes/fibrocystic breast disease/breast pain.
When you get "stressed", you release more of your normal female hormones which cause cystic changes and pain in the breast.
Decrease stress (it is not good for your heart or blood pressue either-can cause stroke).  Find ways to relax, laugh and do something fun!  you'll be even healthier!

A minor concern: While this is not usual for you it is not abnormal. Breast tenderness after ovulation is a reaction to increased progesterone levels but it is not a consistent symptom. Ovulation may be delayed or your cycle may just be changing a little.  You need to wait this out to see when your period comes and then to see what happens going forward.
