hospitalized for invasive streptococcus pneumonia thats also in my blood. im youngish and very fit and active. why did this happen?? i dont think i fit high risk pattern for invasive disease of this bacteria? except extreme stress?

: Pneumococcal pneumonia occurs with only slightly increased frequency in people with underlying health problems. If you're basically healthy, and without chronic heart or lung problems (like asthma, emphysema or chronic bronchitis) almost certainly this is just random bad luck and you'll be fine once you recover. Discuss with your doctor, including pneumococcal vaccine to prevent future recurrence.

The filling for: pillows (even down or feathers) goes through a sterilization process before being sold. If you are referring to a used pillow that someone else had been using, it would be potentially possible to transmit infection however in the absence of moisture it is unlikely that bacteria like strep pneumoniae would survive long enough to be transmitted.

Difficult to: With viral infections, there can be a tendency for a higher fevers.  Having said that, its is virtually impossible by symptoms alone in the absence of a good physical exam to distinguish one from the other.

Contaminant: It's impossible to collect semen without a few bacteria getting into the specimen and I seriously doubt this has anything whatever to do with your health or fertility.

: PLEASE DO NOT GO TO WORK! It would be wrong in so many ways:  your working could put your elderly charges at risk of death. You can safely be off quarantine only after your symptoms have been gone for at least 24 hours. Follow your doctor's advice about your own treatment. Good luck.

No: Generally, bacterial infections in the blood are serious fairly quickly - it would be unlikely to have a chronic bloodstream infection unless you have an abscess or source for continual infection and you would feel ill with fevers, chills, poor appetite, etc.
