Very treatable: Most streptococcus species are sensitive to penicillin and related antibiotics.  It is common in skin infections, urinary tract and certain pneumonia in the lungs.  It is especially implicated in a condition called "strep throat" in children and in "scarlet fever."  if not treated this may result in rheumatic fever leading to heart valve disease, kidney disease etc.

Clean : Doesn't hurt to clean counter tops, tables and door nobs and aeresol the air of the living areas. Same thing a medical assistant does to an exam room inbetween patients. More importantly family and guests should wash hands before eating.

Several Problems: The toxin from beta hemolytic group a strep can attack connective tissues. Acute arthritis, a generalized skin red rash called scarlet fever, rheumatic fever with heart valve damage and acute glomerulonephritis which damages the kidneys.

Ovis or bovis: Ovid is found primarily in sheep whereas bovis is not uncommon in human colon. Neither are common causes of pharyngitis in people.

Strep milleri: This organism can be quite malignant, if in fact it is causing infection. It is not possible to tell whether its presence could have been detected earlier without more info on your symptoms and signs.  Hope that you and your baby are getting along well and will recover uneventfully from anything this may have caused.

Symptoms?: If you do have symptoms then it should be treated. Usually with Amoxicillin.

: The issue is the Strept you have susceptible to the antibiotics you have been taking? If so and you have no reason to have urine track infections should do the job. If you are not better and they have not done a urine culture please request on on a clean catch, mid stream urine sample.

: If she has been treated since she was a child, there is a high likelihood that she has been treated with multiple antibiotics. The Dr that has been treating her has her history, her responses and her test results. This person is the one who should be managing her care. If they prescribed Augmentin, that is a very good medication for Strep infections.
