my 2 year old  has strep throat, she got a shot on wednesday morning it's saturday and she is still not feeling good and shehas blister in her mouth?

It happens: Did they verify the strep with a test ? Was the shot a penicillin based drug? Even if both were done, some kids carry additional throat germs (viruses) as a co-infection and take longer to improve. As long as the kid stays well hydrated and is feeding okay, you can monitor through the weekend. Call the office on Monday if things are not improving.

Throat: Your throat infections may not be strep. It may be a virus. You may also be having s reaction to the antibiotic. Check in with your doctor. All the best.

No -- see Dr. ASAP: If you have strep, you must get seen by a Dr., get tested, and if the test is positive, you must take antibiotics.  Strep throat, if untreated, can lead to rheumatic fever, which can cause permanent damage to heart and kidneys.  While you're there, the Dr. can look at the blisters.  Feel better!

Mono & Strep? Yikes!: That would be a really awful combo to have but i'm not sure that it would explain numbness on your lips. Numbness is a concerning symptom and deserves to be more fully explored by your doctor (who you should be following up with closely if you really have mono and strep).

: Proper diagnosis of strep can be considered suggestive in a phone interview but is accurate only when testing is done. Many of the most irritated/blistery throats are viral, where antibiotics play no role in recovery.
