how do i stop my elbow from clicking when i do push-ups?

Probably can't: Many joints in the body make sounds when thay are moved. This is like cracking your knuckles. Unless this causes pain or an injury occurred there is little to do to stop it.

i broke my elbow/arm when i was younger and had to get surgery on it. my elbow won't stop clicking and/or hurting. what's wrong with it?

Noises are common: Lots of things in the body make noise, but are harmless. If you aren't having symptoms such as pain, or stiffness, i wouldn't worry about it.

Varies: There is a term called crepitance, which is where a joint can click and pop secondary to early arthritic conditions.  But there are also tendon and ligent conditions that can cause clicking in the elbow as well.  Finally, numbness suggests at least some neurological involvement.  Don't hesitate to be seen and a detailed exam and appropriate studies will usually give you a definitive diagnosis.

Rice: Rest, ice, compression, elevation. Out of all, rest is most important. If pain persists see an Ortho specialist.

See MD: Does not look infected (yet).  I would get seen at an urgent care center or by my pcp.  You should be on antibiotics to prevent a serious infection.  Is your tetanus shot up to date?

Elbow click: This can be a normal finding due to the lining of the elbow joint (capsule). As long as there is no pain or swelling nothing to worry about.

Consider arthrogram: Loose bodies are not the only source of clicking in the elbow, but are a consideration.  They are hard to detect in the elbow on an MRI sometimes, and giving IV contrast is not helpful.  An arthrogram, in which contrast is injected into the elbow joint itself and then followed by either a CT scan or MRI scan is usually the test if choice for loose bodies.

i hit my elbow quite hard in the wall, since then its hurting bad. i cant stretch my arm out fully and i can hear it clicking when i stretch it. it is tender and sore when i touch it or lay on it?

Elbow trauma: YSpencer ~ I would go to the ER and get it xrayed, you may have a crack in the olecranon process. It tells you what it is that is exactly causing the pain. thanks

a couple years ago i had a partial tfcc tear. it took months for the injury to even be diagnosed. i still get occasional clicking & lots of pain up the pinky side of my hand, elbow & various parts of the arm. can this pain ever be fixed?
