not necessarily: Straining, being on nsaids like aspirin, ibuprofen, trauma, hypertension and heavy lifting would be risk factors.  If there is frequent bleeding, or easy bruising/bleeding then ask your doctor for more workup.

Doubt it: Probably not. But you could just take a daily multivitamin to be sure. How often do you floss? My dental hygienist recommends daily flossing. Do you have any other bleeding issues such as very heavy periods or easy bruising? If you cut yourself does it take a long time for the bleeding to stop? See your dental hygienist for a cleaning every 6 months.

It can: Nose bleeds are usually from capillary breaks in the septum (between nostrils). Oddly enough, perhaps the commonest cause is too many "empty calories" in the form of "junk". I know it sounds odd but even capillaries require normal energy metabolism.

Switch methods: Irregular bleeding is one of the side effects of Depoprovera. Another method would probably fix the problem. At 42 you may want to consider the permanent and hormone free method of Essure. You could also consider a Progesterone IUD like Mirena (levonorgestrel) which would likely eliminate your period

Preg bleed: Any bleeding during pregnancy needs to be evaluated promptly by your doctor. About 50% of women experience some degree of bleeding in early pregnancy making it very common but not normal. Most are fine but sometimes bleeding can indicate a tubal pregnancy or miscarriage. Get checked.

my aunt takes injects due to clotting reasons. however the injection site has yet to stop bleeding. what should she do?

Direct pressure: Bleeding at in injection site can almost always be stopped by direct pressure.  Gauze placed over the site and pressure applied to the gauze with the heel of your hand should be sufficient.  Don't pull the gauze off as this can pull a new clot off and allow for bleeding to re-start.  Cold compresses can also help.
