what drug should be use to treat blood in the stool?

Need diagnosis: If there is blood in the stool, a diagnosis must be made as to the nature of what is causing the bleeding, at that point, a directed therapy can target the problem. At the very least, medications that target acid in the stomach are a part of therapy. If the blood is visible, in the toilet, perhaps it is hemorrhoids but that should be evaluated also.

would dualbiotic gummies have an effect on how well any prescription drugs work? ive been more regular since taking them almost too regular as many stools have been soft, could this be effecting the absorption of medicine?

: These gummies are a just source of germ colonies known to "act nice" in the digestive tract. If they crowd out 'bad acting' germs and yeast it can improve digestion. They not much different than the germs you put in your mouth sucking fingers or eating food with your hands. They have no reported impact on medications you take for other reasons.

i was told i have diverticulitis. its being treated with cefdinir due to allergies to other drugs. will cefdinir help any? how long should i notice improvement? :) i been having bouts of consipation and narrow like stool. thank you?

: Constipation and narrow-like stool are not the typical symptoms of diverticulitis. Nowadays, most mild to moderate cases of diverticulitis are self limited, no need for antibiotic therapy and cefdinir is not often used for treating diverticulitis. Good luck.

Iron suppliment: Ferroglobin is an iron supplement.  You can get dark green to black stools with this.  Constipation can also be a side effect, keep well hydrated and use a stool softener if needed.

Patience: Helicobacter causes peptic ulcer disease and is treated with antibiotics along with acid blockers which should have helped your reflux symptoms. You may need to continue the acid blockers longer; your doc can advise. The bismuth (Pepto-Bismol) part of the treatment could have contributed dark stool. Do fecal occult blood test to reassure you're not bleeding, then push fluids, fiber, exercise.

i picked up c-diff from the hospital i spent a month being treated in. the gastroenterologist has had me on vancomycn, and dificid. stool tests after each showed positive for c-diff. my dr. is sending a 3rd drug to me over the weekend. is there any c?

C diff treatment: Sounds like your doctor is handling this just right. C difficile bacteria vary in their antibiotic sensitivity, i.e. which drug(s) will be effective. When it doesn't respond to a particlar treatment, like vancomycin, other antibiotics are needed. i am taking misoprostol and stool softeners for pseudo obstruction. other meds for chronic ailments. drugs says eat a meal or don't eat or meal. dosage times coincide often. i can't eat six meals a day, especially before bed. any suggestions?

: When a medication states to "Take with food/meal" it just means to not take it on an empty stomach. "Food" can be as little as a slice of bread, or some crackers. Make sure you are eating some fiber with every meal and drinking copious amounts of water/non caffeinated fluids daily.
