Possible  but: Gluten sensitivity is unrelated to ulceration.  As for apply cider vinegar, it is a controversial subject.   Theoretically, anything acidic should be avoided.   However some patients feel that it helps their reflux symptoms.  I would be very interesting in finding out what apple cider vinegar does for you.

is it okay for an 83 years old man to drink apple cider vinegar to lower his blood pressure? wont it hurt his stomach when he drinks it?

Yuk: Apple cider vinegar? Yuk. Why would you take that? It has not been shown to have beneficial health effects, and may cause gastric problems. To lower blood pressure, instead use things that are supported by a tremendous amount of scientific evidence that they work and are safe!  Diet, exercise, and medications approved by the FDA.

no prescription acid reducers seem to work. could it possibly be that there is too little stomach acid in me? apple cider vinegar seemed to help.

Accepted Answer

There is: An entity called alkaline gastritis, which is caused by bile backing up into your stomach.  Treatment is different from acid reflux.  Consult your GI specialist for evaluation.  You might need to have endoscopy for accurate diagnosis.

No: Vinegar will not cause harm to your health, though it is not likely to help with weight loss.

No problem: Apple cider vinegar is a weaker acid than stomach acid, and improves digestion it does not cause ulcers and is sometimes used to help heal them.

Not good for you to: There is no medicinal or nutritional values for vinegar. It is a flavoring juice to be used to cut down on using heavy dressings, so it is a means to cut calories. No immediate harm to stomach or liver if used in moderation.

i have had my gallbladder removed and a scope that discovered a hiatal hernia.  i started taking apple cider vinegar . terrible stomach and chest pain?

Reflux : The hiatus hernia may be causing reflux of stomach acid into your espohagus. Vinegar will not help- it is a mild organic acid. You may benefit from over the counter ppi like pepcid- 20mg am/pm for at least 1 week and if not improved, seek prompt medical examination.

Yes.: Vinegar is an acid, so it&#x27;s normal if it causes a burning sensation when consumed.  Avoid excessive consumption of acidic foods; they can trigger or worsen heartburn and other acid reflux symptoms such as throat irritation.

Probably not: I can't think of a mechanism, and given that literally hundreds of different, hard-to-verify claims are made for the stuff, you'd do well to comply with any medical treatment that's been offered and consider your use of the vinegar to be experimental.

Probably not: Both food groups are acidic in mature.
