i had pain in my shoulder last year and was a stress fracture. now i have stinging pain in arm thought my leg left side. doctor arm specialist said it was musclier. but when i play baseball it feels like it did last year with the stress fracture.help?

i gym about 5 times a week and recently started feeling a stinging pain in my upper left arm when i move it in certain directions. however, when i lift my arm then the paid goes away. also, it will hurt sometimes while i sleep as well.

Muscle Strain: It most likely is muscle starin related to your Gym Activities.I suggest you give your muscles some rest may be for a week or so and see if the pain goes away.You can also take some non steroidal anti inflammatory agents available over the counter if you are not allergic to them.And that might help as well.Rest and Anti Inflammatory is the way to go.If that does nit help.Then consult your doctor

This neds a work up.: What you have could be a primary shoulder problem, or a neck condition. It could even be a nerve problem related to nerves called the "brachial plexus, " and all of thos posibilites need testing.

Varies: Multiple potential causes, I would not hesitate to be seen.  A "pinched nerve" in the neck, otherwise known as a cervical radiculopathy, can cause similar symptoms as what you are describing although there are other possibilities as well.  A simple physical exam could go a long way to determine the likely cause.

Soft tissue sprain: Teen female with shoulder-arm-hand syndrome. Might be crossed muscle syndrome cervical muscles or Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. See comments. See an Osteopath. Physical Therapy, acupuncture, massage and biofeedback might be needed.

Nerve Pinch: This sounds like a pinched nerve in the neck. Although it could be other less common causes. If you have no other medical problems: infection history, cancer history and no significant weakness then give the pain 6-8 weeks to improve.  Nsaids can be beneficial (unless you have kidney problems).  Talk to your doctor if not improving over time.

How long after?: Although most jellyfish sting pain is acute, there are some cases of delayed/recurring reactions days or weeks later. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/pmc2380397/  sea-bather's eruption is an example, where the nematocysts (the stinging parts of the jellyfish) can remain in swimsuits and cause a reaction when the person puts his/her bathing suit back on. If longer time gap, another cause.
