Angular blepharitis: Your description sounds like angular blepharitis which causes irritation/redness/discomfort near the lateral canthus.  This could also be caused by other issues as well.  See an eye doctor for further evaluation and treatment.

Irritation: It's normal to notice some discomfort for up to a few hours or a day after an irritation. If any discharge, redness, or persistent pain develops, do get it looked at by your doctor.

while i was taking off my makeup the skin next to the outside corner of my eye started to sting and it's kinda red. is this b/c of my makeup remover?

Possible: Have you tried a new makeup product or remover?  This does sound like an allergy or contact dermatitis  of some sort. I would recommend changing to a different brand if possible. Also keep a cold compress on the eye and pay attention if the symptoms worsen. If the pain gets very bad, heavy swelling occurs or spreads, or if any vision changes occur, go to an urgent care center or ER immediately.

See doctor: Hard to tell exactly what it is without a direct exam. I suspect however that your eye had been itching from allergy and then the area became irritated or infected from rubbing.  Need to see your doctor to find out.

Infection&gt; See Dr: Your symptoms suggest an infection in the inner corner of the eye. The tear duct may be involved. It's important for you to see your physician AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as the condition may get worse. An allergic reaction is possible but less likely.

a drop of rubbing alcohol slipped from my forehead into the corner of my right eye. rinsed my eye for a few minutes. the stinging stopped within a minute, but it's been 8 hours and my eye is still a little irritated/sore. will my vision be affected?

Alcohol in eye: Rubbing alcohol can cause significant surface irritation and even corneal abrasion. You washed your eye out well, but I still recommend consulting an ophthalmologist to check for damage, which can need treatment, in view of the subsequent eye discomfort.

Controllable: The string of mucus coming out is not unusual for dry eye. Dry eyes are not curable but there are a lot of options for treatment.  Consider an eye doctor consult.
