UTI persists: The bacteria causing the UTI may be resistant to the antibiotic used; you might have interstitial cystitis, which involves the bladder wall; or another condition may be causing the symptoms. See fp again for urine culture & sensitivity & more extensive evaluation to determine other possible causes.

Resistant UTI: I am not clear whether a urine culture was done. Taking an antibiotic does not mean, infection will go away. Infection, could be resistant to the antibiotic taken. If sexually active at this age, treatment/ diagnosis  would change entirely. Get checked.

Confirm UTI present: Important to confirm that you really have had a UTI.  Was a urine culture sent?  If culture sent then need to make sure organism is sensitive (treatable) by antibiotic that you were prescribed.  Other causes of pain can be related to gynecologic or gastrointestinal sources (ovarian cyst or torsion, endometriosis, appendicitis, diverticulitis).  Need to talk to your doctor if pain/symptoms continue

What symptoms?: There are many organisms that cause UTI and some do not grow in routine cultures, e.G, mycoplamsa. There are also non-infecious causes of UTI like symptoms. It would be prudent to discuss your symptoms with your doctor for a proper evaluation.

are there any links between having nexplianon and uti? this is my second time getting meds for uti, and it still won't go away!

See GYN or urologist: There are many reasons for this. You will need urine culture to see if there is really an infection and if so what kind. I am not aware that nexplianon is the cause and it is not an antibiotic.

No, Not 2hrs after: Female from Singapore says, I am having UTI now, have taken 2 amoxicillin 2 hours ago, but pain still persist. Can I take another 2 more Now?  Simple answer, No! Not 2hrs after. Amoxicillin is an Antibiotics not a pain medication. Over use of Antibiotics can have disadvantages. Best to dash over to the PCP office for a quick exam and proper treatment of the UTI &amp; pain. Promptly, please.

Quackery: These are nonsense, quack treatments. The best they can do is partly help UTI symptoms, but they will not cure or prevent urinary tract infections. See a doctor for diagnosis and proper antibiotic therapy.

i have uti for two weeks now it says it usually last couple days and its been two weeks and its still positive and i already took the medicine and it didnt do anything what should i do?

: Make sure your doctor has this information then follow her advice. Most likely the bacteria causing your UTI is resistant to the antibiotic you were prescribed. The bacteria from your positive culture can be tested to determine which antibiotics are active against it, guiding your doctor on what to use for re-treatment. Good luck.
