: Which one ? I know of at least a dozen diseases that can be transmitted through sex. Some may never trigger symptoms in a male during the period when they can pass it to others.

: This depends on the STD. Some HPV strains may never show symptoms in a male or female until she develops cervical cancer decades later &amp; dies. For others many show symptoms in most in a week. Be specific about what disease you are ask in about &amp; we can be more specific with an answer.

: Most STD's have symptoms (pain, discharge, etc.) with the exception of syphilis , which starts with an easily detected visual lesion, but is usually without pain, which appears in the genial area.  If ignored or missed, syphilis will still be present and detectable by lab testing, but may take years to affect the nervous system (tertiary form).

In a male,: herpes, GC,chlamydia,trichomonas could all show late onset and not show symptoms. In a femalle,not as likely. I would think chlamydia and trichomonas might be late onset.

Yes: Yes, many infections can do this.  Hpv, or the virus that causes genital warts and ultimately cancers of the cervix, vagina, vulva, and anus can be asymptommatic for a decade or more.  Hiv can have a period without signs.  Gonorrhea and chlamydia are often asymptommatic.  This is why people need to be tested, and not just think 'i am clean because i feel fine'.  Get tested...

Not HPV: HPV doesn't cause fatigue or any other systemic symptoms. Also, with 2 years having passed, it is likely your HPV infection has been cleared by your immune system and is now gone. However, if you (still?) have genital warts, see a doctor for treatment.

See below.: Not sure i understand the question.  But.  Most std's are readily apparent within a few days after unprotected intercourse.  Hiv may not give symptoms for years and may take 6-12 months to become positive on a test.  In terms of how long does it take to catch and std?  One act of unprotected se is enough.

Yes: HPV is one of the more common STD's and the non-wart producing strains can arrive and stay in the recipient for years with no noticeable symptoms. In the pre-vaccine era as many as 70% of women in their 20's showed blood evidence of prior infection. Some strains are related to cervical cancer.

i was diagnosed with yeast infection two years ago after tested for stds bv immune disorder etc everything negative but yeast been treated with fluconazole for a year & clotrimazole but never responded i also now have pelvic pain whats happening?

: Yeast infections do not cause pelvic pain. There are many other possible causes, but if you are sexually active, this suggests possible pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which usually means gonorrhea or chlamydia -- so get checked ASAP. As for yeast, 10-15% of infections are caused by yeasts resistant to all "azole" drugs. Discuss alternate treatments with your doctor. Good luck.

Need for evaluation: It is very unlikely that you have hiv. The more likely stds you could have picked up are herpes and hpv. Next time you see your doctor discuss the need for evaluation.
