Most STD's have symptoms (pain, discharge, etc.) with the exception of syphilis , which starts with an easily detected visual lesion, but is usually without pain, which appears in the genial area. If ignored or missed, syphilis will still be present and detectable by lab testing, but may take years to affect the nervous system (tertiary form).
