Depends on lipids: First, you need to control your blood glucose.  That will help your triglycerides.  You and your md should evaluate your overall cv risk.  Statins are proven to reduce risk of heart disease, and most people with t2dm should probably take them.  Fibrates lower triglycerides, and raise HDL a bit.  Fibrates have not been proven to lower heart disease, however.  Talk to your doctor about this.

Depends on risk: Factors. You may not need any more treatment if you do not have risk factors. How much do you weigh? Do you smoke? Do you have a family history of heart disease? Are you diabetic? It would be prudent to consult your doctor for treatment specific to your circumstances.

i take an ace inhibitor, statin, beta blocker and low dose aspirin everyday. total chol is 195, trig are 168, ldl is 121 but 8 mos later my total chol is 149, trig are 91 and ldl are 85 is it possible to have more blockage than before this therapy?

More side effects : In addition to the other answer, muscle aches/breakdown and liver toxicity are rare side effects. Of note , many patients have taken statins for years without any problems.

Usually not: Increased elevations in liver tests may be seen with statin use, but if you're being monitored by your md the. I would not worry about any liver damage.

Internist or GP: I wasn't aware of a contraindication between statins and oral contraceptives. There are other options to use for hyperlipidemia depending upon how severe and significant the problem is in each case. I doubt your gynecologist would be experienced in the use of these other agents so you would have to consult your GP or a specialist like an internist or cardiologist to prescribe and follow up.

Statin: Mediterranean diet and lots of aerobic exercise. If you are doing the best you can with diet and exercise then if more lipid lowering is appropriate talk to your dr. Statins work more reliably than 'natural' steps.

if i am having both myalgia and diabetes from statin therapy, should i stop statin therapy and go for non-statin cholesterol lowering medicine?

Most Likely: You should definitely see your doctor and discuss this with them. Fortunately, there are many choices in medication for illnesses and disorders now. If one medication seems to be causing side effects, other medications - in different drug classes - may be better choices.
