Protection: You must complete 1 month ( an entire packet ) to be protectd. Always take you pills EXACTLY as directed.

Pregnancy risk: If you stop the contraception pill pack, you return to normal risk of pregnancy.  The pill packs prevent pregnancy by stopping the spike of lh and fsh hormones that tripper ovulation.  They also regulate periods by taking over the hormone cycle.  Stopping the pill pack will return you to your previous condition.

Not Important: If this brown discharge does not bother you, then do not worry. This is only if you have not missed any pills. If you have missed the pill, then it may be because of that. Otherwise, if it bothers you, you can switch to a higher dose pill.

Wont work: If you stopped the birth control during week two then you will not be able to predict ovulation accurately this cycle.

Not a good idea: Probably better to wait for your next period and start day 1. Note your next period probably will be late-should occur in about 6 weeks.
Use barrier contraception in the mean time.

Yes: Withdrawal is a very ineffective method of birth control.
Please consider condoms or other contraception if you do not want to get pregnant.

May not: Sometimes a side effect of the progesterone only pill is erratic bleeding, although it can be used to control vaginal bleeding in some limited circumstances.

You should be: protected 7 days after starting the pill but, in your case, at 16 years old, "should" isn't good enough.  Please use a barrier contraceptive for the rest of this cycle.  After that, you will receive the full benefit of using oral contraceptive pills.
