See opthalmologist: An ophthalmologist  is a MD. They can help access your  eye pain which could be due to increased eye pressure like  glaucoma or inflamation. You need  to evaluation this. It can lead  to vision damage.

i had a retina detachment surgery/scleral buckle 3 months ago. can i sparr in the ring with a head gear that protects me from direct blows to the eye?

Accepted Answer

No: A retinal detachment is an extremely dangerous event.  You could lose permanent vision in that eye.  It also means protecting vision in the other eye very very important.  An accidental blow to your head and eye could permanently leave you blind. No amount of head gear can protect you from that. Best wishes.

Get evaluated: You are a boxer and have had a detachment, presumably from trauma.  Floaters are common but can be a serious warning in an eye that has already had a detachment (at a young age).  Immediately get an appointment with the retinal doctor that re-attached your retina.

Very rare: Have not seen a retinal detachment after routine laser iridotomy.  Was reported in the literature as a case report after super high energy used.  Maybe could have had an unknown tear that led to the detachment.

: It is not normal to have pain due to retinal tear treatment three months after treatment. It would be prudent to see your doctor for an in-person evaluation.

Vascular leaks: The retina is very thin, very fragile but richly endowed with blood vessels and it sits on another carpet of blood vessels.  Re-attachment surgery has to restructure a detached retina in the presence of all of this vascular richness and fragility and sometimes smaller vessels can leak or even vessels at the site of entry into the eye.  This will clear usually with time.

Damaged eye: Unfortunately not. The eye will shrink but not by much. The vision probably will not as the retina was damaged.

: I'm reluctant to attribute this symptom to wisdom teeth extractions a year ago. I recommend having an ophthalmologist examine you to rule out issues like glaucoma,inflammation of the optic nerve or migraine.

From many causes: Sharp pain like stabbing can be due to lot of causes, and it can be serious, you should consult an opthalmologist asap.It may be something benign especially if you do not have any other symptoms such as vision loss or problem, dizziness, headache, naosea or vomiting.And associted with other medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension etc.But still you need to see eye md to rule out serious conditions.

Corneal irritation?: Many things can cause your problem. Sudden cornea dryness or irritations form contacts or lid disease very common. Try otc systane ultra, if fails to respond seek out exam.
