Also an x-ray will determine if the break extends into or involves one or more joints. A dislocation would also need to be ruled out. A sprain is a stretching or tearing of a ligament.  Both can hurt and can take 3 to 6 weeks to heal. Sometimes surgery is needed.

compression isn't the easiest on a toe, but rest, ice and elevate for a couple days are usually all that are needed for a toe.  If not better in a couple days or if it's getting worse, see your doctor - i've discovered fractured toes a couple times when they didn't heal as quickly as a sprain should have.

This should not causeing both your feet to get cold. Shouldn't even cause one whole foot to get cold. I suggest you visit a foot doc or neurologist.
