It is very important for you to get back in touch with the eye doctor or his/her staff and to ask what your examination revealed. Write down the name. Ask if if is a cause for concern. Talk to the doctor who examined you - not to doctors who don't know you.

Arcus senilis: The arcus senilis is a donut ring of lipid deposition at the edge of the cornea.  This is an arc, and not a spot.  You can get donut like spots as a healing response to previous trauma.  I know of no pathology that causes such spots so this is probably a benign event for you.

Have an eye check: Contact lens wearers with eye pain and physical signs of potential problems require an evaluation today. Call your eye md & tell him/her your problem. He/she will see you today. Your cornea may an infection necessitating treatment. You could also have over wear problems requiring stopping the contacts & wearing your glasses.

Cornea: This requires careful follow-up by an ophthalmologist and if progress isn't being made, I believe in consulting a cornea specialist at least for a second opinion. Corneal damage can lead to glaucoma as well as visual difficulties.

An evaluation by an eye md will help to reassure the proper diagnosis and to advise treatment recommendations. Their presence is typically from excessive uv exposure, wind, dust, dry eye or inflammatory ocular surface diseases.
