is there a reason why i keep getting spots behind my ears and at the front on my ears?! it's like a lumpy bit and then goes away. just pops up!

Cysts vs lymph nodes: these bumps could be small cysts/acne lesions or even possibly lymph nodes. I suggest having them evaluated by a dermatologist the next time they appear. You might want to take some pics next time.

what could cause me to have two flat red spots behind my right ear?  not painful or itchy

Accepted Answer

Most commonly: these would be little patches of inflammation/irritation, but without being itchy it is less likely to be an allergic or inflammatory reaction. Perhaps they are petechiae which can result when tiny blood vessels called capillaries burst under the skin. They can be caused by injury/trauma. OK to watch for a few days. If more develop, become painful or irritated, see your Doctor/Dermatologist.

i have about 10-15 tiny spots on my hairline behind my ear! should i go and see my doctor? or will it go away by itself?

Hairline: see your primary care or dermatologist to have the correct diagnosis, it is very hard to comment without seeing the rash.

Lamisil (terbinafine): This could be seborrheic dermatitis and is treatable with dandruff shampoo such tvsal, t gel, head and shoulders. You could use otc such as lamisil, (terbinafine) micatin, or cortaid.

: If the white spots were not caused by old inflammation, the could be due to an autoimmune disorder called vitiligo. The itchy red bumps which turn into pimples could be inflammatory changes in hair follicles.  I think it would be worthwhile to consult a dermatologist for evaluation and advice.

??Mastoid infection: That is the location of your mastoid sinues. Used to be a common infection but much less common since the advent of effective antibiotic treatment for sinusitis!!
I cannot recommend treatment on this platform but suggest you mention this possibility to your Primary Care Provider

Migraine: Migraine headaches are common at your age and can exhibit pain over the head and behind the ears. The exact cause is not known. For starters, you could try some self care strategies like warm compresses, massages, hot showers, relaxation, green tea.  Talk to your pcp or a neurologist.

ive been having a fullness in the ear for a week. dr confirmed that there is no fluid in my ear. i also have a sore spot behind my left ear lobe that is tender the touch. sound like occipital neuralgia?

: Occipital neuralgia causes clear cut discomfort at the base of the neck with radiation up the scalp behind the ear.  Blockage of the eustachian tube at the back of the nose caused by nasal congestion or polyps can cause blocked ear sensation. I recommend a thorough evaluation by an ENT specialist for accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.

there is a little hollow spot behind the ear under the mastoid bone and in the neck you can just put your finger into, is there a lymph node in that area?why would it be uncomfortable for me to chew there, there is no swelling at all?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests.  If the discomfort is not subsiding, it would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Go see your doctor: You likely have an outer ear infection and you may need antibiotics.   I have seen small infections grow into larger ones, so while it's small, go see him.
