Yes : Yes.  It's muscle fasciculation with spasm

almost constant twitching in left calf and some in right. i have mild lumbar scoliosis with hypertrophy and spinal stenosis. could this cause this?

Twitching: How long has this been going on?  It may be ok.  It is a common symptom.

Twitching could be caused by some changes in your back, in particular if there are changes around S1, which is a common site for stenosis.

What is more important- are the calves strong?  Do they seem like a normal size?  If you can stand up on your toes/balls of your feet, it may be ok.

been twitching bodywide for 2 yrs mostly in calves. lately left leg has been aching like a toothache with burning foot and increase in twitches. no loss of fx in 2 years.   is this likely a spinal related or should i be worried about als?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. Your symptoms could be due to  neuropathy  and/or vascular insufficiency and it would be prudent to see your doctor.

Maybe: Muscle spasms and twitches are not uncommon (but also are not the norm). When a nerve is compressed, there is some abnormal function that results in pain and the need for surgery. Once pressure is relieved, then blood flows back in and can create all sorts of tingles/burns, twitches, etc. Some spasms of the back muscles are also common and can often be relieved by ice, bending or stretching.

Not likely: The nerves that supply your chin and the rest of your face exit directly out of the brain and so are not affected by abnormalities in the neck.  Don't hesitate to be seen and evaluated.

It is possible: One can get sciatica as a result of herniated disk typically  on same side as disk bulge but stenosis can give bilateral symptoms.

: A brain MRI is of the brain and a spinal cord MRI is of the spinal cord, usu. only the C-spine because most spinal MS occurs there. Your doctor will choose brain, C-spine, or both depending on your symptoms. Don't try to 2nd-guess the doc. You'll just slow down the process.

Nerve dose twitch : Muscle twitches are caused by our muscles tightening up involuntarily in other words  when we're not actually controlling them
muscle twitches can happen for lots of reasons like stress too much caffeine  a poor diet exercise  or as a side effect of some medications
most twitches go away in a few days and are nothing to worry about some time the cause nerve problems or other medical conditions.

Lots of things: Many reasons to have twitches - from completely normal, to a tired muscle to some serious diseases.  Depends on where the twitching happens and how long it lasts/when it occurs.

Rest assured that...: ...your kidney, for as many years as it sits in the back of your body attached to a bladder full of wet urine, perhaps always trying to absorb the shock of your poor posture as well as when your babies were squishing the heck out of them while you were pregnant....that they are not looking to move down the street by jumping out of your body and slithering away. Twitching's for MUSCLES not beans!
