Time to call 911: Any person with a bug bite on the face and then trouble breathing should call 911 for the ambulance. The paramedics will have an Epipen (epinephrine) and other medications to help counteract the possible allergic reaction. The doctor at the E.R. Can evaluate to decide if it indeed is an allergic reaction.

See the pediatrician: Spider bites are actually not very common. If your daughter has a rash on her face that is bothering her or you, i would suggest seeing her doctor to try and determine what caused the rash and how best to treat it.

Spider bite: First aid treatment is cleaning the area with soap & water, apply a cool compress on the area, take tylenol/antihistamines, & if it was black widow spider or brown recluse spider, seek medical attention fast.

Put her in gloves: If you really want her to stop you can fasten gloves on her hands that she cannot remove. In the hospital we put their upper arms in a soft splint that prevents them bending their elbow, which stops the picking.If neither are acceptable, just accept you cannot control a 2 yo  and let her be.

First, avoid infect: A spider bite can cause a large amount of redness and swelling, and since the bite causes a break in the skin barrier, it could leave exposure to strep or staph or skin organism to get onto the soft tissues causing infection (cellulitis). So first keep area very clean. Then i suggest a mild Hydrocortisone cream 0.5% (otc), alternating with an antibiotic cream. Don't scratch!

See your doctor: It is best to have it looked at by your doctor to make sure it's not infected and needs drainage. You may also need antibiotics if infected. If you pop it, you risk infecting the area too info already infected.

However, I'm more concerned that you haven't been evaluated &amp; treated for possible cellulitis (some antibiotics should not be taken when lactating).
