Not uncommon: Caffeine is the most common substance associated with heart arrhythmias (palpitations). Some people feel heart palpitations when they drink coffee or tea or eat chocolate. Red wine and eating too much can bring about symptoms in others. These rhythm problems are rarely serious.  Make sure blood pressure is treated appropriately.  See primary doctor for further evaluation.

i've been having heart palpitations at night since returning from a trip to vegas where i ate lots of junk food. could the food have caused this?

Junk food: Yes, junk food might cause your heart palpitations but if you are also taking perhaps too much liquor, please stop that for a few days.
If alcohol was not something you drank while in Vegas, you must see your primary doctor.

when i eat junk food i get heart palpitations. almost as if my heart rate slows down but thumps harder. i measured my heart rate but its without 80-100. ive gone to the cardiologist before and they say it is normal. what is it? it gets me anxious

Doctor can evaluate: What we typically call junk food doesn't cause any heart symptoms before, during, or after meals, when compared to any other typical foods we eat. The only exception would be foods or drinks with high levels of caffeine, which can cause palpitations or fast heart rates. Thus, one's primary care doctor can evaluate to find out what the palpitations are, and what might be leading to them.

Yes: Severe constipation is uncomfortable and any discomfort can cause our body to release more adrenaline, which makes the heart beat harder and faster. That's a normal reaction. Would focus on getting enough help for the constipation including regular exercise, plenty of fruit/vegetables/whole grains, and medical treatment. Also tea is constipating in case u didnt know.

is magnesium good for heart palpitations / pvcs? i am taking 195mg supplement of it per day is this safe? what if food had too much in could i overdos

No: Do not take medication or supplements of magnesium without talking to your doctor. It could be harmful.

wt: 318lbs 5'9". meds: 50mg atenolol-1x/day and 1x olmesartan 40mg. bp normal w/meds but have heart palpitations sometimes even when working out. maybe its atentolol wearing out in evening. happens when eating certain food then causes anxiety. why?

Atenolol is a: "long acting beta blocker ..however ask your Health Care professional if you can switch to 25mgm twice a day! (There are 25 mgm pills)

Heart problems : You should see a good cardiologist. You have to have to learn how to control your high blood pressure. Also you complain about palpitations. You may have an underlying heart rhythm disturbance. You would need an ECG to diagnosis it correctly. Treatment varies depending upon the diagnosis.

No Salt: Edema has many causes. Basically, if you are overweight, have high BP and /or eat salty foods often, you probably will develop edema. Please check with your doctor re these conditions. You are very young to have anything seriously wrong with your heart, but watch your blood pressure
