Diaper rash: A white pimple is benign. However, if there ar many and the skin becomes reddened, it might mean a yeast infection or just an irritation. If the pimples develop into blisters and open sores, a strep or staph infection may be possible.

Accepted Answer

To the doctor: In an infant that age i would recommend that they be seen by their physician.  Depending on the size, these often need to be drained and often cultured.

Accepted Answer

These are usually: " sucking blisters, " & they don't hurt the baby. If they are fluid-filled, a pediatrician needs to evaluate the baby to rule out an infectious disease.

went to docs and she said baby is in permanent head down position. and wont be flipping any more. how do babies end up bottom down then sometimes?

"Breech": A small number of babies will settle botton down in the birst canal (calledd "breech" deliveries. Usually these pregnancies are now handled by C Section!

This is variable: Teeth eruption is quite variable in normal babies. The average quoted is bottom two by 4-6 mo & 1/mo untill all 20 come in. I have seen the bottom two present at birth or not in untill 15 mo. The top 4 are lined up ready to come down next  but again eruption is variable. Occasionally i see outer upper teeth come down before the center 4.

is there a specific order for babies teeth to come in? i have seen charts indicating this but my little ones teeth seem to be appearing differently. she has two at the bottom but 5 going on 6 at the top. shes 11months

Not particularly: Given that we study everything you will find charts &amp; average emergence patterns but that stresses "average". Dental eruption timing and sequence (location) is variable in infants. I'm just happy that I see them eventually. One/mo starting at 4-6m is the average.

since cold sores are so common and probably easy to pass on to babies, how would you know if a baby contracted the hsv 1 virus?

HSV: Herpes simplex virus produces these and if the baby already has cold sores the chances are very high that they have been infected with this virus.  You could do viral cultures on one of the sores, or do antibody titers on the baby. But why bother?

what to do if i got quite red irritated skin and i just want to get skin like a babies bottom, obviously not the smell and nappy rash, as this wouldit!?

Baby skin: No, you probably don't want baby bottom skin!! Haha. Keep your skin clean, avoiding harsh soaps (including antibacterial soaps) and chemical irritants. Use SUNSCREEN!! If your skin is dry and irritated, use a good moisturizer regularly- no perfumes or colors. Don't scratch and pick at your skin. See your doctor for a regular check of your skin, especially for any moles, etc. that change.

at what age is exposure to hsv-1 (cold sores) no longer extremely dangerous to babies? when does it become just a cold sore and not a fatal disease?

Not fatal: Although anxiety provoking and no one wishes for it,  hsv-1/herpes virus is not a fatal disease unless one is quite sickly or immunosuppressed.

i am having cold sores (herpes simplex 1) from a blood transfusion as an infant in 1980?

Accepted Answer

Other sources: 80-90% of all adults are positive for the antibodies against herpes simplex 1, meaning they have had an active infection sometime in the past. Given these really high numbers for the general population, one does not need to invoke that a blood transfusion that happened as an infant was the cause.
