Possibly viral: Possibly a virus. Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day. Or gargle with aloe vera juice twice a day.  Add honey & a small amt. Of lemon juice to chamomile tea.

See below: No all H inluenzae bacteria cause disease. There are six major types and type B causes most infections in humans. Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Irritation: Your body responds to irritation by making mucous to help protect the irritated area. When you burn yourself, your skin oozes fluid - we've all seen that. When irritants get in your nose and sinuses (cigarette smoke and chemicals), those tissues make mucous to try and soothe things. This drips in your throat and irritates it. Please think about giving up the cigaretes. Less mucous and saves money!

Viral syndrome: Most likely you have viral  upper respiratory tract infection that is causing sneezing, sore throat and coughing. You do not mention whether you have fever. If you develop high fever and/or  increasing pain on swallowing,  you have to be examined by a physician to rule out streptococcal throat infection.

Doctor can examine: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold virus (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies, irritants, stomach acid reflux, etc... Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly. Throat lozenges and Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin can decrease pain temporarily.

: Viral infection could cause relapse but bacterial infection will rarely cause relapse.  Notify neurologist and make sure you are taking a potent DMT

HIV: Acute retroviral syndrome usually not this localized, but anything is possible.  Strongly recommend testing for all stds and be very careful. It is dangerous out there.
