Mucositis?: These don&#x27;t sound like symptoms of sinusitis. Maybe viral pharyngitis. But you may be on the right track, i.e. oral mucositis (inflammation of mucous membranes of the mouth), a well known side effect of many chemotherapeutic drugs, including methotrexate. Discuss with the doctor who prescribed it.

Cold/flu: Sounds like you may be getting a cold or flu. You can try taking some zinc and vit. C to help reduce the severity of a cold. You can also try some otc cold/flu meds for the symptoms for now. You may have to just ride this one out til you feel better. Give it a week and if you are not better or getting worse see a doctor.

Talk to dentist?: A viral sore throat does not last 14 days and would not migrate to under the tongue. There is some inflammation going on and perhaps your dentist can provide a better answer.  I am concerned that you may have an abscess either originating from a tooth or remotely the sinus.

Without : Without examining you it is difficult to come to a conclusion.  You history of fever and throat pain points to an infection, possibly viral.  These typically take a week to 10 days to run their course. Persistent symptoms should be evaluated first by your personal physician then, if no cause is found, by your dentist.

This could be a: Viral infection, strep throat, yeast etc. Med eval would help to differentiate. For significant sore throat with swollen tonsils / lymph nodes –  see physician ; get a strep throat test/ culture. If you have strep throat, antibiotic therapy is imperative to prevent future complications. Consider tylenol (acetaminophen) or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm &gt;.

This : This is hard to answer without actually seeing it but you may have candidial pharyngitis (thrush). People who have been on antibiotics, immunosuppressed, poor oral hygiene, can be prone to this. I would have your pcp , internist, or ENT if needed take a look before recommending a specific treatment.
