Glossopharyngeal Neu: Well, the only reason I'm throwing this diagnosis out on the basis of your symptom of "sore throat" is because I see you've had an endoscopy, U/S, &amp; Laryngoscopy. So obvious things (acid regurg, tumor, thyroid disease, fungai) are likely ruled out..plus you've had it for 20 months. But Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia..MAY BE something to think about. It's highly underdiagnosed. Ask to see neurologist.

Sounds like strep: throat.  This is a simple matter to be checked for at a doctor's office or an urgent care center.  A quick throat swab should be able to tell you if that is the case.

It very well may be : strep as white exudate in the throat is a sign . Your doctor should perform a rapid strep test to confirm

: It is always prudent to avoid close contact with another person ( kissing hugging ) till the infection clears as they can be contagious

Referred ear pain: Most likely your ear pain is "referred pain" from the throat pain.  With your immunocompromised state, it would be wise to see your doctor.

Dr. can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). Throat lozenges and Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin can help decrease throat pain.

Neuropathic: If you had a scope, and I am assuming some scope an ENT did and the imaging is negative then some type of neuropathic pain would be suspected.
