R/O PHARYNGITIS : PHARYNGITIS = Inflammation of throat. It can be viral or bacterial. Rest push fluids gargle with salt water/zinc 100mg/Vit c 5gm. If symptoms persist or worsen, you need exam throat culture and potentially antibiotics.

i've had awful body aches the last 3 days with no other real symptoms. is there a risk this could be covid-19? the body aches are also causing headaches as the pain is mostly in my back & neck. i have minor sore throat but that's all. what can i do?

Covid-19: Those symptoms can be seen in any viral illness and are not specifically suspicious for Covid-19. Fever,cough,shortness of breath are the most common symptoms of Covid. Symptomatic relief-acetominophen for aches and pains. Gargle with warm salt water etc.

Laryngitis : Perhaps you had a virus (cold) before the symptoms started.  You may have  "strep-throat".  Perhaps you have a more serious problem affecting your lymph glands in your neck.  
You need answers from a medical examination and blood tests to be sure you are taking care of yourself.  
Tylenol(acetominiphorin) for body aches is helpful until you see your physician.

Are : Are we sure this is a lymph node? An isolated lymph node in the suboccipital area would be unusual unless there were inflammatory/infectious processes of the posterior scalp skin or very rarely spread of skin cancers. Did it appear at the time of your other symptoms or has it possibly been present for some time and you now just noticed it. Sebaceous cysts (blocked oil glands) or small lipomas (fatty tumors-benign) can be mistaken for a lymph node. If it persists beyond 3-4 weeks it would be reasonable to have it looked at. If it remains swollen and tender (not usually a characteristic of a malignant lymph node) a course of appropriate antiobiotics and short term oral steroids wouldn't be inappropriate.

Neurologist this am: The treatment for flu is symptomatic  Tylenol (acetaminophen) and ibuprofen. The stiff neck means you need to contact  the treating neurologist this morning. Viral infections can sometimes cause meningitis. That could cause a stiff neck (rather than the chordoma). If you can't reach him/her she needs to go to an urgent care center or ER

Bleeding tongue: A bleeding lesion at base of tongue persisting for that long with your smoking history must be biopsied and imaged. Go see ENT to check for possible cancer.

last year, i seemed to be getting a sore throat, neck and body aches every 2 weeks or so. i think i'm straining when i'm talking, especially when i'm teaching. i can't get out of the cycle of sore throats etc..?

: A throat culture, EBV test and examination are recommended. GERD may be associated with sore throat, but usually not with body aches. Avoid smoke exposure, drink soothing liquids with honey and please follow up with your PCP. Watch for change in voice, difficulty swallowing and fever. COVID 19 screening is also recommended.

Possibly: Since you are running a fever and are in general not feeling well. I recommend that you go to your family doctor or to a walk-in clinic. You should have your diagnosis confirmed. Having a stiff neck can be part of mono but it could also be part of something more serious and i think that you should definitely be checked out by a medical professional this morning.
