Yes, possibly: Your ilium is the large wing-shaped pelvic bone. The medial portion of your ilium is the part closer to your spine.  A lesion in your ilium could cause pain in your back and buttock area, but so could many other things  including a compressed nerve (from a bulging disc), a tight piriformis muscle,  or inflammation in your sacroiliac joint. It sounds like your pain "refers", making me think nerve.

i have had kidney cancer. i just got my  ct scan back and they report a lesion on my right ilium bone possible a bone island. could this be cancer?

Maybe: I'd favor a bone island. Adult kidney cancer can do anything, including turning up in one bone years later. However, if the radiologist's first thought is "bone island", and you're comfortable with watchful waiting, and your physician is as well, the best thing might to be watch it. Truth is, i'd be quite surprised if it were metastatic cancer.

my orthopedic surgeon ordered a contrast mri to evaluate two bone islands/lesions in my r ilium. x-ray report indicates 2 separate foci, one 5.8 x 2.0 cm and one 1.8 x 1.5 cm. history of r hip and r si joint pain. what could be his concern?

Inflamation of nerve: you have inflamation the nerve going to this location.  Neuralgia.  most likely due to a virus, the most common of which is theherpse zoster virus...i.e. post herpetic neuralgia.

lately when i roll my shoulders or move them i feel a lot of cracking like my bones are rubbing. after awhile it starts to feel sore and stiff. ?

Crepitus: There are many causes for popping in the joint (crepitus).  This can include but is not limited to bursitis, tendinitis, cartilage or labral tear, cartilage wear (arthritis), joint instability, and rotator cuff tears.  If there is no associated pain, then likely you don't have to worry about it.  If there is pain, then see your doctor.

Biopsy pain: Bone biopsies can be very painful. If there is bleeding beneath the fibrous membrane covering the bone (periosteum), the pain can persist for weeks and even for a month or so. Mild heat may be a good way to treat this pain. Hopefully, you biopsy results were good.

Sounds like gangion: If you haven't been injured, this sounds like a ganglion cyst.  Don't mess with it, you can gently apply some heat.  
See someone if it gets larger or painful all the time.  If you have had an injury, you should have it x-rayed.

Soreness: Any painless or painful abnormal growth in any part of the bone should be examined by your doctor.
