swollen turbinates causing stuffy nose 9 months now. tried everything, no help.thinking of somnoplasty but concerned about empty nose syndrome??

Mixed up: You're just confused about what you actually have, somno-plasty doesn't deal with nasal turbinates. ENT / Allergist would help you control your nasal symptoms, if you have already seen either, a second opinion is your right , antihistamines and antibiotics aren't the only  treatment for nasal problems, good luck

why would i only have problems with one side of my nose? always burning, aching, bleeding, infected, swollen nasal membranes. only a slight deviation.

Nose bleed: You should be evaluated by an ENT doctor. Also foreign body in nose has to be ruled out.

4 yr son full adenoids&tonsils removed 3/18/15. snoring&breathing issues again.had few colds since sept.can adenoids grow back?nose membranes swollen?

Rarely do adenoids : regrow enough to cause symptoms of nasal obstruction. Nasal  congestion &amp; fever, signs of a viral illness, can cause his current symptoms, as can allergies. If he still snores when well, his ENT may perform nasopharyngoscopy to visualize the anatomy &amp; mobility of his velopalatal muscle &amp; the operative site &amp; order a sleep study to rule out Obstructive Sleep Apnea. If concerned, call his ENT now.

for two months, i have had a feeling of swollen membrane in right nostril only. use of a neti-pot in the morning ocassionaly i get a a crusty blood tinged booger expelled in the tissue when i blow my nose.  ct  an mri scan showed nothing?

: Information is missing. While a CT and MRI were normal it does not clarify what you nose examination is like. When I examine someone's nose I can see the mucus membranes inside and may appreciate swelling, redness which would not be seen on the CT or MRI. So you should see a doctor for the traditional and best way to evaluate you , an examination in person

i have trouble breathing through my nostrils. i used 4-way nasal spray with menthol. they no longer make it. my nasal membranes swell.  what can i do?

Rebound: You may have tachyphylaxis (or your nose has gotten used to needing the nasal spray). You could tough it out and in 1 week you will get better. If not you could consider getting a nasal steroid to treat allergic rhinitis.

See ENT: for endoscopic exam. An ENT should be able to differentiate between polyps and turbinates with a proper exam.

Different Things: Nasal turbinates are long protrusions of tissue inside your nose that extend from front to back.  Everyone has them.  In allergies they can swell leading to stuffiness and congestion.  This can also occur when you are sick.  Nasal polyps are fluids filled sacs that grow in the nose and sinuses and are most often caused by airborne allergens or aspirin allergy.  The may need surgery.

Atypical reflux: Yes your symptoma may be related to silent reflux.A course of twice daily theraputic ppi should be tried to see if you grt symptoimatic relief.

Nasal saline spray: The first thing to try is simple nasal saline spray which you can get over-the-counter. Use it as directed. Also, there are some brands of "saline nasal gel" which can be sprayed or applied with a cotton swab to your nasal membranes. You might have allergic rhinitis or possibly some other underlying disorder causing the dryness. See your provider within a few days if the saline doesn't help.

I do not know: Maybe you have a chronic allergic rhinitis.  See a dr. To get diagnosed as there are several medications that can help you.  Best wishes.
