Soft diet: appropriate post oral surgery or dental procdure, GI surgery or  procedure or constipation. Consist diet that require less chewing and are soft in consistency

Sore throat: If you have a  very  sore throat, enlarged tonsils or lymph nodes  it might be painful to swallow. In that situation a softer diet may be a gentler way to eat.

Follow Instructions: there are many variables which affect the answer. ITS BEST TO FOLLOW YOUR SURGEON'S INSTRUCTIONS.
In general rinse only lightly to clear blood or debris from mouth. Excessive rinsing can wash away the clot and make the extraction site bleed.
Eat soft food sparingly and rinse lightly after eating. Report pain, foul taste, pus, bleeding, swelling to your Surgeon. Hope this helps. Good Luck

Trauma: To avoid blunt force trauma to the affected area. Biting down on hard foods will only irritate the area further. If you sprain your ankle, you avoid running for a while. Let the area heal with as little additional irritation as possible.

Dietaccording to your gastroenterologist.: The halo procedure is a fairly new method of treating barrett's esophagus. Usually patients are placed on a liquid diet for the first 24 hours afterwards, for example broths, shakes, and gatorade. For the following week after that, the patient is usually placed on a soft diet. You should avoid hard solid foods which could scratch or irritate the lower esophagus. Your gastroenterologist should give you detailed instructions on what kind of foods are safe to eat after the procedure.

i had my 1st diverticulitis attack 4 weeks ago.  on low fibre/soft diet.  could i try ham, pork or beef?  would 1 week rum & coke or 1 wine be bad ?

Diet: Once your doctor has said you are improved & off antibiotics, the doctor would usually tell you when to advance to a high fiber diet to try to prevent recurrent diverticulitis. Usually you can eat normal healthy high fiber foods when healed. Some antibiotics react poorly with antibiotics so check with your doctor.
