However, the most common adverse  effect of inhaled steroids is thrush affecting the oral mucosa and possibly the bronchial tree.  It is best to rinse the mouth thouroghly after each use.  This will minimize the risk for thrush.

A short days-long course may not cause any of these but higher dose or longer duration treatment should be monitored.
