NO magic!: Unfortunately you have discovered that eating whatever you want whenever you want from the college cafeteria is not a good idea. Get with your team nutritionist and set a healthy eating plan, and add more cardio aerobic exercise, at least 1 hr per day. The weight will come off and you will learn the eating healthy plan for life.

Basics: A person performs at their best when they get adequate restorative sleep, are well nourished, train responsibly &amp; are free from illness. Heavy training at 16 while still growing and studying adds hours to your sleep requirement. Proper nutrition is an obvious need. Stretch!: Stretch your whole body, with special emphasis on your legs, before and after every workout; this will help minimize injury and strains. You should feel very stretched out before and after every work out. Good exercises include jogging, running, cycling, and anything that puts impact on your legs. Weight training for your legs is good as well. Good luck!

Yes: The relationship though is between dental health and playing soccer.  I've seen many teeth injured during soccer .  The more serious concern is concussions.  It has been shown that wearing a properly fitted mouthguard reduces the risk of injury and concussion dramatically.

the past 3 years have just been injuries. i was an active soccer player and the last three years after stopping playing because of injury i seem to be getting hurt non stop. my blood work is normal but i wake up in constant pain. im 22 years old.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated.  Wish you good health!

i'm an elite soccer player with an acl tear is there any way i can be back on the field in a month?

Depends...: Unlikely; however if your acl tear is isolated( no meniscus tear, etc.)and you have good " secondary restraints " in your knee( mcl, capsular ligaments)and your knee is still 'stable' when involved in hard , cutting sports (i.e.Soccer) then return to soccer w/ or w/o functional knee bracing then u might be able to... The chances for this scenario even in your age group are &lt;30%.Best of luck!

Depends on the pain: It depends on how severe the pain is and it's duration.  If it is just an ache and short lived and does not stop you, it is ok.  Otherwise, try cross training if only doing one type of aerobic exercise and incorporate stretchiing and core muscular workouts as well.  You can try otc medication if no medical reasons that would prevent their use. If it  persists, then seek evaluation if bothersome
