Whatever you wish: The apocrine (odor) glands of the armpit are under the control of the adrenal glands. They may become active months to years before the start of true puberty. Any deodorant the kid is comfortable with can be used. You can test any product before use by applying it to the pad of a Band-aid and placing it on the skin overnight. If no redness or other reaction it should be fine.

Not clear: Although your description is not totally clear, it sounds like you have a cyst which is benign. If you want to confirm the diagnosis see your family physician or a dermatologist. Squeezing it out will not help since the contents will just reaccumulate.

SMELLY ARMPITS: Wash! wash! wash! daily! daily! use an antibacterial soap. If you already do that, then the next thing to do is to wash all your shirts, blouses, sweaters, right after you have worn them. Use a good underarm deodorant, not an antiperspirant. Stop onions and garlic. Best luck.

Lets try some interv: The sweat glands which are concentrated in the armpit, are the cause of the  odor. Washing this area once or twice daily using soap and water may help. You may try using deodorant sprays after each bath. That should eliminate the problem if soap and water scrubs did not stop it.

Lots of causes: Body odor is affected by hygiene, the foods you eat, how much you sweat, and the bacteria on your skin. Antiperspirants can help cut down on the amount of sweating, especially if applied at night before going to bed, when you are least sweaty. Foods like onions and garlic can also increase the odor.

No, not normal: Bad body odors in infancy is not "normal". Is there just odor, or is there any type of associated rash or redness? Does the odor smell sweet, musty, rotten, or any other particular description?. If no rash, I'd start with using an antibacterial soap diluted in water and wash well twice daily. If ANY redness or whitish discharge present, I'd be suspicious for yeast and have that checked out by doc.
