Dermatitis: Usually, rashes in this area are due to yeast. Since you are a female I can't call it Jock itch.
I would consider a product in the pharmacy aisle. Perhaps you can use a topical jock itch product. The med does not know if you are male or female.
Do you have diabetes? Patients with diabetes get fungal infections more frequently.  If not better consult a Doc for prescription treatment.

Fungal Infection: Most likely  you are suffering from a fungal infection of the skin. It is commonly referred to as jock itch. The main culprit is the humid environment created by sweat and folding of the skin. This creates optimal place for fungus to grow. Medical term used is tinea cruris. Can be treated with avoiding tight clothes, keeping area dry, and using otc anti-fungal cream like lotrimin (clotrimazole). Good luck.

Try antifungal: This can represent common "jock itch" caused by a fungus. The mylocort is unlikely to help. You may be able to find an anti-fungal spray called miconazole often used for athletes feet. It can help if this is the case. Apply once daily &amp; it should help within a week.

Why you did not ask: Other than renewals by your own doctor for a known problem  , the doctor should never Rx a prescription with out examining . All doctors will agree. You should have asked on the spot. This is the reason every one should have a family physician to get better care and proper referral to the specialist .

Likely : The description sounds like herpes simplex which is an std. Although painful and inconvenient, it is not serious but it is contagious and causes complications for women  who express the virus  during childbirth. Therefore you should have a doctor diagnose this for certain while you have active sores and use barriers or abstinence during an outbreak to prevent transmission to your partner.

Apples and oranges: If you have a staphylococcal furunculitis there is no need to be taking an antifungal medication. If you also have secondary candidiasis you can take fluconazole if necessary.

Jock itch. Anti-: Fungal over the counter cream should cause rapid improvement but continue to treat , even if skin returns to normal , for 2 weeks or it may come back. If no good response after a few days, go C your Doc.
