Should see your doc.: If this symptom is new you should see your doc as it may indicate trouble in the area of the first cranial nerve.  If on the other hand this is lifelong I am not sure there is much to be done.

Smoke: Two thoughts.  One, could be problem with your sense of smell.  Zinc deficiency could cause that or perhaps some type of allergic problem.  Second possibility is you have developed this "sensation".

I would first querry your ob-gyn doctor about this and if unrelated you may want to see an ENT specialist for nasal endoscopic exam and consider MRI study of brain.
