The the recent spit smelling like vomit may have been truly vomit and not usual spit or due to delay of spit had such odor.

This is really Not : OK! She is suffering from chronic constipation ,so impacted, hopefully, not obstructed, that she is smelling like poop. Would not be surprised if she  vomits poop!She needs to see peds GI and undergo aggressive treatment, diet modification and further work up for other causes!!!

Especially if distress persists, or is accompanied by bleeding, worsening pain, lightheadedness, or development of vomiting or fever, then get a good examination with appropriate testing for reassurance and/or treatment. If "pret" (ready to eat), you may want to start slow today to see if this has run its course.

How long?: The odor is not as important as the duration.  If this has been present for less than 72 hrs, this is likely from a viral infection and even food poisoning.  If this has been going for a long time, she needs to see a GI specialist.
