Could be anything.: "small individual dots" is very nonspecific - anything can cause them. Give us some more information; what color, what shape, are they flat or raised, does anyone else have them -- anything you can think of that will help us narrow the possibilities. Or let a dermatologist take a look at them.

Take antihistamines: Start by taking a cool shower and apply a safe anti-itch lotion such as Sarna with pramoxime. Also, take a non-sedating antihistamine during the day, such as fexofenadine (Allegra) 180mg and at night cetirizine (Zyrtec) 10mg or diphenhydramine 25mg (Benadryl). If no better with 3-4 days, see your physician.

Rash: Depends on where you all have been and been exposed to.  It's probably an allergic type reaction even as simple as new detergent or soap. If noone has any fevers or other symptoms you can probably try some cortisone cream and see if helps.
